Let Go & Let God!

In the midst of an intense workout today, I realized often times WE as Christians tend to limit our true potentials in life because we are constantly trying to “handle” the various situations that life is throwing at us instead of asking God for his guidance. I say “WE” boldly, because moments appear in our lives where “WE” try to step up to the plate and handle a situation because its not working out the way “WE” think it should.

Take a moment and think, I mean truly think…What aspects/situations/relationships in your life have you completely trusted God to handle? Do you have any times that you have truly, ‘Let Go & Let God’ handle the situation?

Personally, I find at times I struggle with fully trusting God. I struggle with finding a balance between dealing with the stresses of medical school, dealing with the fact I live thousands of miles away from my family and friends, and dealing with the thoughts of how I envisioned my life to be at my age and the actual reality. Many people may not understand the depths of what medical school requires from an individual, but I do know we can all relate to how society is constantly portraying life based on achieving power, money, and fame.

Society is selling all of us on, “Instant Gratification.” We are all trying to survive in a world that has no remorse to what type of situations or pressures it throws in our direction. We get so overwhelmed with trying to stay afloat that we begin to lose our footing in life. We slowly begin to stop focusing on our relationships with God because we’re just trying to survive. At this point ” the struggle is real.”  The love, trust, and faith we once had in God is slowly beginning to slip away. The plans that God has revealed to us for our lives seem so far away that we want to take matters into our own hands. We feel like WE have to handle all these situations we’re encountering each day.

But wait, just from that paragraph, we can see how quickly we create a cycle in our lives that disconnects us from God and when we look up the plans he has for our lives seem even farther away. We need to be proactive in our daily walks and begin to trust God for direction in our lives. If we are conscious of our daily decisions then that means we can begin to actively process and evaluate whats going on in our worlds. Making the extra effort to hand all things over to God will allow us to grow closer and to build a stronger relationship with the Lord. Stronger relationships and closers walks with him will only lead to greater levels of trust and faith.

We have to remember God has provided a free, accessible tool that can help us maneuver through our daily lives. I constantly remind myself that the Bible tells us to, “Cast your cares on the Lord…” – Psalms 55:22.  So, with those few words, prayer, and meditation, I continue to grow knowing that all my cares can be handed over to God.

So, when you think about the current obstacles you’re facing and the ones to come ahead, ask yourself, Am I trusting God with my cares or am I trying to handle them myself. I personally can say it takes time and maturity in Christ to get to the point of “Letting Go & Letting God” handle the situations. However, in order for it to begin, we must start making the effort to change how we deal with everything in life.

As I continue to grow in my daily walk, I have to put forth the effort to consciously remember to trust God. On a daily basis, I have to shed the thoughts of what I want and draw closer to God, to trust and believe he is working everything out for my life. I want to grow in my walk with Christ and I strive to do his will by making conscious decisions that are pleasing to him.

I CHALLENGE EACH OF YOU to wake up everyday with the desire to build new levels of Faith, deeper connections with God, and learn to trust him more and more each day. No matter what we endure in life, we can’t ever forget the Lord is our everything we just have to trust him. In his word, God continuously reassures us that he is here for ALL of us everyday of our lives. We just have to learn to truly ‘Let Go & Let God’.

I’m so glad I serve an awesome God who is always with me every step of the way. I know we can find guidance and peace in his word. Peace in knowing that he is with us every step of the day.

Much Love & Blessings!
